Supplemental Instruction

In these peer-led study sessions, trained undergraduate leaders attend classes with USC students and encourage them to explore course concepts. Sessions are open to all students who are looking to enhance their understanding of the material and improve their grades.

Supplemental Instruction Schedule

Supplemental Instruction Sessions begin on Monday, August 26th.

The Fall 2024 schedule will be updated by Friday, August 23rd.

  • Earn higher course grades
  • Develop effective methods of studying course material
  • Enhance study skills
  • Collaborate with classmates to improve understanding of content
  • Receive tips from Supplemental Instruction leaders who have previously taken the course
You'll be expected to:
  • Regularly attend class. Supplemental Instruction is not a replacement for attending class or talking to your professor
  • Bring class notes, textbook and questions. Supplemental Instruction sessions engage students in a discussion of the most recent lecture material and provide you with opportunities to practice what you are learning
  • Regularly attend Supplemental Instruction. Students who attend regularly are more likely to earn higher grades in the course
  • Have fun! Supplemental Instruction sessions provide a comfortable, informal environment for you to share information and learn from your classmates

Supported Courses

Courses selected for Supplemental Instruction are introductory courses in which undergraduate students are expected to perform well in order to progress in their major and/or meet their program’s requirements.
