Bio

Dr. Allison Jobe joined the faculty of USCL in Fall 2024 as an Assistant Professor of History and African American Studies.  She earned a Ph.D. and an MA in United States History from American University and bachelor's degrees in History and Anthropology/Archaeology from Appalachian State University.  Her research focuses on the American Left and investigates the intersection of race and radicalism.  A biography of James W. Ford, Communist Party USA leader, is forthcoming from UNC Press.
