Before joining the Honors College, Dr. Tracy Skipper worked at USC for more than two decades, most recently as assistant director for publications at the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition, where she managed a small academic press publishing books and periodicals focused on college student transitions, learning and development. She has been a frequent contributor to the literature on college student success. Prior to that, Tracy served as a student affairs administrator at Wesleyan College and Shorter College before returning to USC for graduate studies. She has taught various courses, including introductory and upper-level English courses, University 101 and University 401. In addition, she is a past staff co-chair of the Provost’s Advisory Committee for Women’s Initiatives.
 
A graduate of South Carolina Honors College, Tracy also holds degrees in higher education (Master of Science, Florida State University), American literature (Master of Arts, USC) and rhetoric and composition (Doctor of Philosophy, USC). She and her husband Randall Dong live in Columbia with their son Aidan and rescue pup Charlie.
