Background
Rasheda Mendez joined the University of South Carolina’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management in February 2026 as an academic advisor, bringing a strong background in student guidance, advising and academic support.
She served as a high school guidance counselor for seven years, where she was dedicated to supporting students’ academic, personal and college readiness goals. After relocating to Louisville, Kentucky, she worked as an academic advisor in the College of Business at the University of Louisville for three years, guiding college students through their academic journeys and professional development.
Mendez is passionate about helping students succeed, traveling, spending quality time with family and serving her community.
